I'm trying to get back into yoga but I'm having trouble finding the inspiration...
Does anyone have any favorite yoga websites??? dvds???? anything!
I walk everyday and practice hoola hoop dance and bellydance... I think maybe I'm just bored with the dvd's on yoga I have. I'm trying to save money so I don't want to go take classes right now....
I miss yoga.... but can't get motivated.... its very annoying:mad:

One thing that has helped me is to have a yoga partner. Are any of your friends interested or already do yoga? You could meet and do it together. Does your library have any yoga DVDs? One of my favorites is Vinyasa Flow Yoga by Seane Corn. Best wishes!

I did lots of videos and dvds as well, and finally bit the bullet and signed up for a class, wich I had neither the time nor the money for. It turned out to be a whole new world! And I'm ery glad I did it!:D

I found that the Vinyasa Flow yoga with Seane Corne DVD, as mentioned by Raw Yogini, pulled me out of my yoga doldrums. The flowing from one pose to the next makes it a little more complex. Though I'm not very bendy yet, I find the movement keeps my attention.

Thanks! I will give that dvd a try... a yoga partner is a good ideal too!
All my friend here eat, sleep and breath bellydancing! I don't think any of them would do yoga... but maybe my husband will! :D

I like power yoga: Baron Baptiste and Bryan Kest are two good power yoga teachers.

I discovered that they have started putting Steve Ross back on Oxygen! That helps...
I've tried Baron... haven't tried Kest....
My list of dvd's to find on half.com is getting longer!
I'm thinking it might be cheaper to sign up for a yoga class!

It's not a workout video but I think it's really beautiful and inspirational:

I would also advise going to live classes, but sometimes it just isn't feasible.
Some of my favorite yoga DVDs:
Short Forms by David Swenson (15, 30, and 45 minute Ashtanga practices). David is one of the very best Ashtanga teachers around, and his book on Ashtanga yoga is great for anyone interested in yoga.
Erich Schiffmann has a wonderful site (www.movingintostillness.com). His book (Moving into Stillness) and the DVDs he has produced are simply outstanding in terms of the quality of instruction. There is a forum on Erich's site; it's a really great community.
Shiva Rea has beautiful flowing vinyasa practices, and the production values on her DVDs are top-notch; among the best I have ever seen.
Ana Forrest is another wonderful yoga teacher. She is no-nonsense and radiates sincerity and trustworthiness. Her cuing on her DVDs is great--her form pointers are uncanny--it is like she can see you hunching your shoulders or something.
For something different, you might try kundalini yoga. (Disclaimer--I am certified to teach kundalini yoga, but I practice other forms of yoga as well.) Ravi Singh and Ana Brett have a series of kundalini yoga DVDs that are extremely popular and well done. I might recommend their "Beginners and Beyond" DVD for anyone who is new to kundalini yoga; their "Yoga Beauty Body" is another one I like a lot. Kundalini is not everyone's cup of tea, but you might want to give it a shot if you are looking to shake up your yoga practice by trying something new. Check Netflix to see if they have any of Ravi and Ana's DVDs (or other yoga DVDs, for that matter. )
Hope this helps.

if you have the time- i have found a wonderful local yoga studio new in my neighborhood that is happy to take volunteers in exchange for free classes! (all i had to do was ask!!)
also: maybe a new spin on your practice could help. i know there is a group of women who do yoga on the beach near my boyfriend's house on the south shore, or maybe if you do daily stretching/meditations before rising or bed
:) goodluck!

I'm excited to read your comment because I've been debating on whether or not to join our fittness gym because I want to take the yoga classes there and the other day I got something in the mail offering 1 1/2 years to this gym for half the price and I'm going for it. I can hardly waite and yet another little part of me says, I hope I'm not waisting my money.

why not ask if you can sit in a class before you sign on the dotted line?
here's a good yoga site with animated poses:

I haven't signed up for a class... but I have got my husband committed to doing yoga with me once or twice a week!
And I've been doing Steve Ross everyday for a week now... ordered some new dvd's you guys recommended too!
Yoga and raw are extra nice together!

If you have cable and tivo or something like it, you might record some of the yoga shows on TV. Every day I record "Inhale" on Oxygen and can do it any time I want. Since it's a different show every day (except for the re-runs) it keeps me a little more motivated. I get bored doing the same thing every day. FitTV also has some yoga shows but I haven't really found ones I enjoy there - and they're kind of short.

Have you tried Ana Brett and Ravi Singh's yoga dvds? I am new to yoga and ordered a bunch of them from Amazon. My favorites so far are the Yoga Quick Fixes and Dr Yoga House Call. I am addicted :)
They are raw foodists too http://raviana.com/live_food.html
Also they have sales on Amazon Marketplace (merchant name is chakra44).
