Hello,
I'm new and wanted to take the time to introduce myself. I am a southern belle that married and migrated north. I was raised on southern fried junk.
I surfed the website for awhile just reading. I got the site from the back of Alissa's book. My doc let me borrow it. It just really spoke to me and I thought this is for me. Then I later found out that I have some health issues that a raw diet will clear up. Then I knew I needed it. I read through the book and wondered where all the typical cooking ingredients were. :D I continued to read and I am hooked. I 'm not 100% yet. I am on very little cooked foods and(maybe one meal and day) and it's very bland. Too many preservatives and junk make me detox again. Trying to get all of my ingredients and appliances rounded up. Takes time. I live in a small town. Whole foods is an 1 1/2 hour drive. I like to make green smoothies and salads. I'm proud of myself. I used to be very finicky about fruits and veggies. Now I eat cucumbers and I even hide some avocados in my smoothies. I even made some of the oil and vinegar dressings and they are good. I used to be a ranch dressing eater.:( I started this May 27 and my skin has cleared up alot and I feel sooo much better. My system feels cleaner. My taste buds have changed and I just don't crave the junk near as much as I used to.:)
I don't have a dehydrator yet but I have ordered a juicer to juice. Yea!
My body is depleted of minerals due to too much acid in the body. This leaves me weak and very tired. But I am feeling better. I am looking forward to trying new recipes when I get everything in. Well, I think that's about it.
