Hi All,
I was just wondering if somebody would be willing to be my raw food pen pal??? I have been dabbling in the raw food world for about 2 weeks now, have read just about every thread here but now I am ready to go 100%. My dehydrator is buzzing away at home right now and I keep my citrus juicer busy everyday. I have also ordered AlissaÂ’s book and DVD and canÂ’t wait until it arrives. I am going to begin journaling daily to track my progress and will post a starting picture. With all of that said I am really hoping to find a pen pal that I can email for encouragement, support and advice.
Any takers??? :)

Welcome Jenny,
A suggestion if I may...How about telling something more about yourself so folk here can find something in common with you besides raw foods ~
Age? children? single or married? Area you live? What do you do for work? Hobbies? (yes, I know, some of these are answered by looking at your profile yet, these are questions which came up for me when I read your post. I don't know anything about you, why would I want to be your penpal? Make sense? :) (I was told I "should" put smileys after I post ~ makes me look friendlier.) :D
Injoy ~

Hi Jenny,
I am brand new here myself - going on day 4. I am looking for someone to talk with as well. I'd be happy to chat with you anytime. I am a 28 year old female who is trying to get healthy. I work and live in NYC with my fiance, and I am from Rhode Island. I am excited about this place and the people on here. If you want to chat anytime, you can email me here at JumpinJax or my email at big_ojos27@yahoo.com. I'd love to have a pal to chat with and compare notes!
Cheers!

I agree with Revvell in theory, but if all you want to discuss is raw foods and have someone to be accountable to you, then perhaps other common interests are not important. People are often very busy and have trouble commiting to a penpal. Most of your questions can be answered here in the forum by many experienced people, and you'll get a greater variety of answers than from any one person. If you choose to use the penpal approach, how will YOU know whether the person has the same philosophy about raw that you eventually want to move toward. There are lots of ways that a person can be RAW and at this point you don't know what will work for you, so just keep writing in and asking questions.
Also, there are other raw food boards...connect yourself with as much information as you can on the internet and read, read, read !! There is a lot of information (tips, tricks, etc.) on how to stay raw, especially when boredom sets in or the challenges overwhelm you or the cravings creep in.
Kepp on keeping on and may you have much success in your journey...

Thanks all--of course I should have given more info about myself.

Thanks so much for responding ...lets talk! I am so excited to have a pal that is starting just about the same time as I am so we can report on progress along the way. Plus it looks like we have a couple of things in common.
About myself I am 29 and also a fiance. No kids but two big furry dogs that our kid replacement. I am officially starting 100% raw today which is exactly 2 months from my birthday, so in a way this is my present to myself. I live in Salem, Oregon and work for Dept. of Human Services as a Quality Assurance Specialist. This is a new job and I am trying to get adjusted which has not been easy. I have been 50-75% raw for the last two weeks but am now ready to take the plunge and see what happens. I keep trying to think of hobbies but I am really just a home body. I watch lots of TV, work in the yard, walk my dogs, go to the gym, read books, study everything (I love to learn new stuff)...I guess that sums it all up.
I plan on posting in my journal every day to chart my progress and to keep me accountable.
Anyway thanks again and I will email you directly!
Jenny
