Yes indeed. I have a 4 yr old and got stretch marks during pregnancy. They were dark and have lightened up now and are barely noticeable...this is just in the past 3 months!

Why sure! That makes perfect sense! Our skin is our biggest organ. THAT is what I noticed almost immediately. How much different my skin felt. It was becoming alive.
Try dry skin brushing and you will get the glow baby!!!

Hoo boy... tonight I was giving myself a nice dry brushing, turned to look at my rear in the mirror and noticed some brand-spankin new, bright purple, claw-like stretch marks on BOTH my cheeks. I am DEVESTATED. I have always had stretch marks on my breasts and outer thighs, but this is like... WHOA. I have never seen a shade of purple so bright. Why now? So suddenly, too. I have been raw for over a year. I dry skin brush and use only coconut oil as a moisturizer. Does anyone have advice that can help ease my anxious mind?!

Sounds like an ad when the person has one post here.

but anyway... msm is supposed to help with skin tone, might be worth a try?

I really want to get to the point of if I can't eat it i'm not going to put it on my skin because I believe the chemicals your skin is absorbing on the outside is just as important as what you are putting on the inside.

That being said when I first had my son my stomach was very dark. My dad's wife broke a piece off of an aloe plant she rubbed it on my stomach and I saw my stomach change colors before my eyes within like an hour. She said it helped heal her stretch marks but the biggest thing for me is it returned my normal color after one application.

As far as creams this isn't an ad like the other one! I used the stri-vectin and it really does work. it is ridiculously expensive and it has not erased my stretch marks but it really did help. I only bought one bottle many years ago I would like to buy another when I have $135 laying around.

That being said I haven't been on raw long enough to say if will help. I did read somewhere that foods can help with stretch marks you would have to look that up yourself I think they were talking about foods with good fats like fish-(i know we don't do) avacadoes olive oil.

My son is five so of course my stretch marks have been getting lighter over time, but I have been recently using orgainic raw shea butter ( you can eat this stuff) and my skin has looked great. My stretch marks have been getting lighter but its hard to say if its time or the butter or raw. But my skin overall looks great. you can find some on e-bay if you are interested. You know they tell woman to use cocoa butter and shea butter when your pregnant. The stuff didn't work for me but I think it will work much better in is in its raw state.

I know this doesn't exactly answer your raw-food stretch mark question but I hope it helps and gives you different stuff to try.

I don't think they will every go away. They are embedded in my skin like it's been burned.

But I have noticed my skin and hair are doing amazing since I added a shower and bath filter.

I kinda think of the stretch marks as a tattoo of my old life. I am younger looking and skinner than I have ever been. They tell a story that I want to be told. That I took charge of my life and lost the weight and got healthy.

People need to know that we are not perfect. We have our flaws and they tell a story of who we are.

Since going Raw I have never embraced myself and my body so much. And even though I still have 15 or so pounds to go..it doesn't even matter because I look and feel awesome. I no longer obsess about food or my body and it is FREEDOM.

I've had stretch marks since the 8th grade and mine are getting lighter. They aren't as deep. I also massage my body regularly with shea butter or sesame oil.

It's interesting that all of you say that you have dark stretch marks, recently I looked at mine and they are very light and that's the way I had them after I gave birth to my son who is little over 2 now. I guess everyone is different but I am hoping that I will be able to get rid of my stretch marks sometimes in the future and never get them back.

I heard that stretch marks have to do with the amount of change in a short period of time. So if you gained weight really really fast in pregnancy, (like some say overnight you 'pop') or just during a growth spurt in puberty, then you are more likely to get more stretch marks than if you grow slowly.
I have a billion stretchmarks from my first pregnancy- all within the last month of pregnancy.

There is a great website about accepting our bodies during/after pregnancy;
