The raw food restaurant in Encinitas called the Greenery has an incredible sweet potato bread. They serve it as a cream cheese sandwich. I would LOVE to have the recipe. I'm putting on a raw food luncheon pretty soon, and I'd love to make sandwiches with it. Does anyone have the recipe or anything similar to it?

Now that sounds like something I would like to have. What did it consist of? It probably was like the nut breads served with cream cheese.

spicyful, I wish I knew what it consisted of. The only ingredient I know is the sweet potato, and I assume it has flax as a binding agent.
MrsJohnny, You have no idea! That bread is soooo good. Best bread I've ever had!

I've never seen a recipe for raw sweet potato bread, but I'm sure it's tasty! If you work out a recipe you HAVE to post it here for us :) .

Whenever I make anything with raw sweet potato (juice, pie, mash) I always add granny smith apple. For some reason the granny smith apple really brings out the flavors of the potato. Good luck with your bread!

Thanks for the tip about granny smith apples, rawstrength!! I may try to figure out the recipe on my own, and I'll definitely add that.

I just stumbled upon The Greenery 2 days ago-my husband is really interested in eating more raw foods, I wasn't. However, after eating their sweet potato bread, I may REALLY have to give it a try...utterly delicious! I don't have a recipe but the guy said he puts all ingredients in a food processor, then flattens it out into the shape and puts it in a dehydrator. If anybody knows the/a recipe...please share! :)

I ate some bread at a raw potluck several months ago that was soft and fragrant and yummy. I think she said it was made with sweet potatoes. I meant to ask her for the recipe, but didn't...think I'll go do that now!
