I feel ridiculous here...but have any of you ever gone to use a cuisinart and the power light come on but the blade not engage? I have made sure that everything is locked in place...the red light comes on which shows that it has power, but no action. Suggestions?

Sounds like your motor may have possibly burned out on ya! That happened with my blender.
Try unplugging it for a while, then plugging it back in and trying again. If still nothing, then you might want to contact the company (provided you're under warranty) and see about getting it repaired/replaced. Otherwise, you may end up buying another one!
I don't own a Cuisinart, btw...so I'm not sure how they work.

What happened before it stopped? Or, did it not start in the first place?
Mine has done it more than once. Usually if I put too much stuffs in it, it'll just stop ~ I could smell it too. Waited awhile to let it cool, then re-started ~ with less stuff in it. Worked fine.
Other time I was teaching a class ~ checked it before leaving the house ~ got to the class ~ nothing. Tried all the sockets, tried other electrical items which worked ~ nothing. Luckily for me, there was a cheap lil processor at the school ~ which did the job.
Got home, plugge the C in and ~ worked fine. I think they are just temperamental ~ or just mental.
Final thing ~ what you've got on it might be locked in place ~ you sure there's not one lil part missing? I've done that one a few times.
