hey there,

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to make almond butter with a green star. I got it for juicing only, but I knew it had this option and thought I would try it out and it really did not turn out like I would expect it to. It kinda of turned out like almond plup from making almond milk. I am not quite sure if I should add anything to it to make it creamier like. I have been buying raw almond butter from Trader Joe's which I have a feeling it is not truly raw.

I don't have a greenstar, I just process the nuts in the Food Processor. The trick I use is adding a handful of Walnuts. They are oily enough to hold all the almonds together and the more you process the more oil comes out and makes it more like peanut butter consistancy.

I use nuts that have been soaked then dried in the dehy.

If you have a vitamix, I find it easier than my greenstar for most nut/seed butters, but you have to add a little oil and/or honey to make a creamy butter rather than a nut flour.
