Hello all!,
I just stumbled across this forum today and decided to join because afrer skimming through some of the threads on here I became motivated!
I am 22 years and and I have experienced losing 50lbs + for the second time in my life!. I would like to say that i conciously went raw to lose the weight but it wasn't the case! My initial goal was too eat as many low calorie foods as possible and i gravitated towards eating mainly raw fruits and vegetables along with meat and cheeses. I soon after found out that I was allergic to dairy (my lifelong issue with my stomach). So I began researching the vegan diet and I stumbled across the raw lifestyle. I have become fond of calling it a lifestyle and not a diet because it really does change your life. I also dont like labeling how raw I am. So, I am just going to say that I have been an extremely raw vegan for about 6 weeks now.
I have had a couple of pitfalls, and every time I eat cooked food I realize how horrible and sluggish I feel the following day. I am hoping being on here will give me motivation to stay on track!

Welcome to the raw life, Sarah! And congratulations on your weight loss!! I have had life-long issues with dairy, despite my strong affection for cheddar cheese! There is a recipe for raw cheddar cheese sauce, can't remember all the particulars right now, but yesterday Morn posted the recipe so you should be able to find it under the "search" option.
If you haven't ordered it yet, I strongly recommend Alissa's book. She simplifies the raw food life in a beautiful way, has tons of fantastic and realistic recipes (realistic meaning I can make them), and also goes into detail for the more inquisitive.
Welcome again, and I hope you find all the support you need here in order to continue your quest!
