My dad isn't a raw foodist but he makes 1-2 quarts of green smoothie each morning and is very health-conscious now after eating poorly his whole life up to about 9 months ago. He's since lost about 20 lbs and feels awesome. Anyway, we're not that close, I see him maybe once a year if lucky, and I'm wondering what would be a great thing to get him for father's day...raw food related, of course. I can't buy him a vitamix b/c I'm not rich, but I'd love to get him something he'd use for his smoothies or food prep other than the obvious gift card to the HFS. Any ideas???

How about a really kicking glass to drink his smoothies out of?
A mix and go machine? Little mini blender thing???
A tee shirt that says, "Surrender to the Blender" (you can find this on Revvell's web site - she has them for men too!)

How about a nice container for storing his smoothies in, like the ones people recommend on qvc.com ?
Or you could get him a very nice knife for chopping fruits/veggies.

I love my new 27 oz stainless Klean Kanteen. I can fill it with green smoothie and drink the extra few oz right away. I mostly use it for water, though, because no matter how hot the car gets, it still tastes like pure water. I got mine on Amazon, with free shipping because it was just over $25.

Maybe a saladecco? A book of recipes/knowledge? A magazine subscription?

How do you get the green smoothie OUT of your kleen kanteen? I use a glass jar with a wide mouth so I can clean it with my hand...I feel like a kanteen couldn't get cleaned, even with a bottle brush...?

Well, first I fill it with water to soak as soon as I can. I clean it by shaking it very well with water, then using a bottle brush and vinegar/water. The opening is fairly wide -maybe 2 inch diameter? Since I usually drink my GS at home, I mainly use the Klean Kanteen for water and it is sooooooooo useful to me for that. But once a week I usually take my GS to a Bible study or play group. I like that nobody knows what I'm drinking unless they ask or unless I have a green upper lip :-)

They are called "Lock and Lock" at qvc.com. They will keep things fresher than fresh. they have a Pitcher about half gallon which I use to store extra smoothie in. You can call them...800-345-1515 and ask for Product Finder.
