Okay, so I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I'm curious.
What kinds of professions and lifestyles do you all have?
I'm an RN at a in a very busy ICU at the level 1 trauma center in our city. No raw support there, or even vegetarian/vegan. My hubby is partial raw (me too right now), but other than that no in-person support. I sometimes think it would be easier to be around people who at least tried to eat healthy, with a less stressful job. Is there any such thing? I've only been at my current job for a year, but am getting pretty burnt out. I would love to work in alternative/holistic health or something else more conducive to a healthy lifestyle, but don't know how to do that.
How do you stay focused and on track?

Hey, fellow RN. I'm in L & D!
All the other nurses I work with are always VERY curious about the food I bring to eat. They always want to know what it is, how it's made and sometimes taste it. The next time I work I am bringing a GS for everyone to sample, get this BY REQUEST!!!!
Yes, I feel alone at times in my food choices but it has been amazing to me the curiosity it produces in people.
Best wishes.

Oh! Have you thought about other areas of nursing that are less stressful? Or what about a smaller hospital? There are SO many opportunities for RNs, I'm sure you already know that.

Yes, the opportunities are great. I am trying to stay where I am because I was thinking about going back to school to be a CRNA, which requires at least 18 months of ICU to get into. But I am questioning whether or not that's what I want to do. I see people coming in at the end stages of their disease and looking for the miracle pill/cure for a lifetime of poor dietary habits, see transplants, dialysis, etc. This should make me want to live healthier, but I still make poor choices too. We get trauma pts, often related to drugs, alcohol. But it doesn't seem like conventional techniques are helping these people, I feel like my time and energy is wasted at times trying to help people that don't really seem to want help.

I understand. I see the pts for a couple of days and they have their lifetimes of bad habits and they leave and continue their bad habits. I feel helpless as far as being able to make a difference holistically w/ the pts. I guess even if it's a tiny bit, a difference in someone's life is still something. My brother has a few months left before he will be a CRNA and he absolutely LOVES it. I think overall it is much less stressful, although there a times of sheer terror but those seem to be infrequent. :o

I am the front desk receptionist at a wonderful fitness center. Previously, I was a travel agent for 15 years (until in the aftermath of 9/11, our agency ended up closing). I loved that job and love this one too - this one is alot more fun and less stress!!

When I tell people I'm a teacher they always brighten up and say, "Oh, what grade do you teach?" When I tell them birth to three, their faces inevitably fall, they murmur something polite, and that's the end of the conversation. But, I am a teacher!
I love the work I do as an early childhood educator, but sometimes I think it's society that needs the education about these critical formative years!
The downside to my job is there are six hours straight in the classroom with no opportunity to eat uncooked food (we're not allowed to bring in anything but water, and the only thing I can eat is the cooked food we serve the kiddos).
For many reasons I would love to go the alternative route in my state to teacher licensure, but right now I'm enjoying working through the challenges at my current job!

I'm a freelance court reporter, no court, just out taking depositions, hearings and a few seminars. Sometimes things can get stressful, deadlines and the ever so often "oh, trial is in 3 days. Can we get that tomorrow?" But still I have a different schedule every day and see different people every day. Not a 9-t-5-er!!
It is pretty easy going with eating, although sometimes we may not break for half of the day and I get pretty hungry. I try to bring things with me, have nuts & seeds stashed in the car. And of course, you can always buy a banana at the grocery store.
Loving RAW!!!

I am unemployed at the moment, but my last job was as a gardener at a local produce stand. I never had to complain about gas prices because the stand was right across the street, lol.
As it was too early in the year to yield fresh produce, the products were basically fruit preserves, seasonings, cook books, etc. That said, I didn't get discounts on foods. However, I did like that the stand supported local farmers!
With that said, my other jobs weren't anyway related to raw foodism and other such issues.
As far as my education goes, I'm currently a college sophomore. I originally was majoring in psychology and minoring in sociology, but I've changed my study to environmental sciences. I hope to gain a career in wildlife conservation and rehabilitation.

I model (fitness, bikini & lingerie), compete (bodybuilding, fitness model & figure divisions), am a personal trainer and tour (pubic speaking for fitness).
I work from home.
I don't know anyone else that eats the way I do.
The other day I was actually thinking about how nice it would be to have a network of raw food friends in real life :)

It's great there is such a variety. It shows raw can fit into any lifestyle.
My problem is that I don't know what I want to be when I grow up (besides a raw food lover)--I want to do too many things!
I already said I am an RN, but my 1st degree is in Biological Conservation and Environmental studies. Sometimes I wish I would've stuck with that field. Sometimes I think I want to become a personal trainer or nutritionist (or certified live food teacher).
seasiren--I have also recently been thinking about trying to start competing in figure competitions--I didn't think any of them were raw!

I certainly encourage you to do so! I have been vegan for years now. Was doing protein shakes and raw foods, but am changing up my intake a bit and incorporating more whole (raw) foods. So would be considered high raw for now :)
Here is s link to one of the big comps I did:

On stage ... Jose Conseco and Triple H behind me, were the MC's. I was totally fueled by the crowd. Great fun :)

And was thrilled my photo made the coverage in this months magazine. None to shabby for a high raw vegan person ;)

Next one is the end of this month ... woohoo! :)
My profile & journals are on several of the vegan sites and of course have my own site and profiles (my space etc.) This site is what encouraged me to incorporate so much raw food into my diet and I am so much better for it :)
I am a second grade teacher. My kids are fascinated by my eating RAW. Instead of candy as gifts, I get fruit. I am thrilled when they bring me apples and oranges! I have a refrigerator in my room stocked with fruit & veggies, water, etc. Works well for me!
The RAW lifestyle is the first thing the parents ask me about at conferences. Lol!

Hi! I am a stay-at-home-homeschooling mom of 2 wonderful boys (ages 12 and 2).
I'm just starting this raw journey. I don't know anyone who eats this way. I hope to bring my husband along. I already feed my kids tons of veggies and fruits but would like to incorporate more.

I seriously have THE BEST "JOB" EVER!! I work for David Wolfe! :D Now if that is not a '"raw friendly" job I don't know what is! I get to be a stay at home mom and I also make a little off my website but that's not the reason I have it it's just a nice bonus. My latest project is building a global community for raw superfoodists around the globe, totally Anastasia inspired with a raw twist!

I'm probably going to sound like the lame one here, but I'm on disability. I have to stay at home because of my medical conditions. I went raw a couple weeks ago, and feel great! If things continue this way, I'll be able to go back to work in a while... I used to work in Barnes & Noble. Hoping for a job there again. :) I study music and write literature in my spare time.
