How does one do that? Please don't tell me w/a spiralizer or something like that.... Can you use a peeler?
Also, I need some easy, quick recipe help...
I am about to attend (actually, beginning tomorrow morning) a music/creative intensive for the next seven days, and while everyone else is dining on who knows what, I need to come up w/some simple meals.....
Things that I can either use in the blender, or w/a knife.....
NOOO dehydrator, food processor, etc.... I am going to get a little cold lunch pack thingee from Walmart....
Would love your suggestions..... easy, filling, satisfying....
Also, anything sweet, as well???

Yes, you can use a peeler, but it won't have that "spaghetti" look...but long as it tastes good, right? You can also probably use your blend but PULSE chop until it's in pieces, not mush.
Or...you can use a box grater.
Sweetlips just recently posted a few yummy-sounding, dehydrator-less recipes:
http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4578
You can do wraps with either veggies and some kind of dressing/dip or nut pate'...well first, tell us what you are working far as ingredients. You got any raw recipe books?
I can better assist if I know what you're working with...I'll be up for a little while, so hit me up tonight!

nori wraps! -just take your favorite veggies and wrap ,you could use cabbage or large greens (collards , lettuce....)
you can use a peeler , it wont come out like spagghetti ,more like fettucini....

Whatever I can grab quickly at the Wild Oats : )....
In my possession I have....
carrots
green apples
some frozen fruit to be used in smoothies (so, I guess those are a mute point..)
a little red bell pepper from my nasty kim chee attempt
white onion from above forementioned disaster
ginger
braggs aminos
apple cider
honey
So, we're looking at a supermarket sweep, easy recipe bonanza....
Okay, let's GOOOOOO!!!!
(I have never scored tons of points in being overly prepared.... It is a deep desire and fantasy of mine.... sigh....)
Thanks!, You all Rock! Rawk!!!
: )

VV- how do you keep the rolls from falling apart? That was one thing I wanted to do this week..... Make everyone jealous instead of me trying to succumb to my weakness for food anyone else is eating.....

okay, that gives me a little something...but somehow I'm thinking you left some stuf out...like earlier on you mentioned zucchini, but didn't list it in your recent post!
Do you have any nuts or seeds at all?
Any greens at all (lettuce, collards, kale, spinach, any celery)?
Any dried fruit (raisins, dates, etc.)?
Any coconut?
Almond butter or other nut butter?
I can come up with a couple of things, but the things I am thinking of require just a few more items than what you've listed. But I'm sure we can work something out if that IS, indeed, all you have!
You planning on going shopping to pick up more stuff tomorrow for the rest of the week?

well I roll my nori "egg roll style" just put the fillings on the right portion of the square , tuck the horizintal (top and bottom)sides in ,then roll into a wrap starting from the right side - they usually stay put.

if you use the greens leaf version try wrapping and sticking toothpicks to hold the wraps together.

Rawkin, is it Cherie? Sorry.... I can use whatever...
But, Okay. No, I will have to do a supermarket sweep.... I will have to grab a few things, as well. (I HATE planning groceries and eating, etc. this is one of the BIGGEST reasons I am addicted to the fast food thing.... No prior thought, no thought whatsoever!!!)
Anyway,
I am looking at getting nori sheets for the wraps... avocado, zucchini, I can get greens and what nots. The store isn't terribly far away....
I mean, not right NOW. but in the AM, or during my lunch or dinner break....
Thanks again, you all are so wonderful and supportive!
By the way, I love your picture, Rawkin...

hmmm...okay...this is making it kinda difficult for me...but I'll give it a shot! :D
Yeah, seems you got the nori roll thing covered, so that's one thing
I was thinking along the lines of a carrot slaw type of thing. I just pulsed chopped some carrots, celery, onion and red bell pepper in the processor (but you can use the blender...remember, PULSE) and I added some raisins (you can add some of that green apple). I then made the slaw dressing posted here for that KFC coleslaw recipe: http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1836&highlight=coleslaw
But I didn't have almond milk, so I used almond butter and water instead...you can improvise but I think the cashews are key or SOME kind of nuts.
Mixed it all up and went to town on it!
You mentioned sweet...I usually whip up raisin-nut balls in a clinch:
1 c. raisins (or dates)
1 c. of nuts, seeds or both - often times I'll do sunflower seeds and almonds or walnuts
cinnamon
dash of sea salt (opt)
vanilla (opt)
and shredded coconut
Blend in processor (or blender...but not sure how it will turn out in a blender) until it forms a ball. Pinch off pieces, roll into balls about the size of walnuts (inshell)!
I'm sorry, I'd like to do more, but I'm getting tired.
Veganvixen...the night owl...could/would you help our friend out with some more ideas, pretty please?
I'll try and come up with more simple ideas for you tomorrow to help out with the rest of the week!
Oh...and thank you for the compliment on my pic! :)
'night!

That definitely gives me some stuff to whip together in a snap.... i have raisens, they're not raw, though....
No nuts at this point, but I could pick some up for the rest of the week... Just no time to sprout them.
And, yes, dear VV, you wise, knowledgeable and helpful one (amongst many other wonderful things), would you continue to lend your brain?
Thanks so much!
Ciao!

Okay, not much to work with, but I'll give it a try,
If I can ONLY work with these,
I would take the frozen fruit and some water and honey, and make a smoothie,
I would take the green apples, some ginger and some honey, and make apple sauce, or you could leave out the honey or ginger, depending on how sweet the apples are, and what taste you like. I love applesauce.
I would take the braggs aminos, and marinate julienne white onions in it, then add some shredded carrots, shredded red pepper also add a hint of ginger, but not too much, and it will taste kind of like an Asian stir fry.
Or you could marinate the julienne white onion in the braggs, julliene the carrots and apples, and stuff the red peppers, and voile' stuffed peppers, with veggies, again you could add a touch of ginger if you like..
Hope one of these sounds good to you.
