I really need some help! My son is 4 and has a long history of withholding his pee and stool (likely control issues?). He has been on antibiotics twice for UTI because of frequent urination. Early this morning he woke up screaming that his penis hurt! I helped him to go pee and he was able to sleep again, but he's been uncomfortable all day. He doesn't say much about it except when he's in utter pain when his bladder gets full. His face just looks a little unhappy and sort of greyish.
He also messed his pants just a bit ago, he seems to have diarrhea as well. His penis looks a little swollen and a little red and he can hardly stand to touch it.
I feed him probiotics daily and I'm giving him a bath right now in baking soda and acv since that helped with my own uti when I had one. I have cranberry UTI formula from the health food store, but he doesn't seem to be able to handle much, even mixed with honey and water. I'll try to give him some more now though.
I so much don't want to take him back to the doctor for more rounds of so far useless antibiotics. Please, please advise.

Ohh.. I feel so sorry for you and your son, it must be hard for both of you..

I wish I could help you, hope someone else can? Do you have a homeopath near you?

With my son I have only had the stool issue before and not with peeing (yet).
We were going on a trip when he had just turned 6 and I noticed he was not very willing to go to the bathroom some days before we were to leave. The same day of our departure he told me that it hurts when he goes to the bathroom and that’s why he doesn’t want to go. I thought it was just constipation and it would pass. Bought him prunes. But during our trip he didn’t seem to have much energy for anything and he was also very pale and totally refused going to the bathroom and it just got worse and worse. After a while he didn’t even want to get out of bed. That’s when I took him to the doc and he got antibiotics. He was fine a few days later. But it was scary though.. and I can so imagine how you feel right now.

I would definitely give him a lot of that cranberry stuff (even unsweetened cranberry juice) is supposed to be good for prevention, but I am not sure if it can help so much if he already has an infection. I have had a few and they are oh so painful.. I couldn’t even walk straight the last time I had one 2 years ago..

Thanks for the hugs! I managed to get him to drink half a cup of the cranberry mixed with honey and he's not complaining of pain today. I think I'll just keep feeding him the stuff until it's gone, though. This problem has been ongoing. Appreciate the support!

No, he's not circumcised. Thankfully after the first rough day, when I fed him all that juice, the pain went away. Took him back to the chiropractor who worked on releasing restrictions in his pelvic area. He seems fine now and actually is going pee WITHOUT REMINDERS the last few days. This is progress!
