I'm training for a 10k in July, and it's been great! It's something I never would have considered, but raw has given me energy energy energy! There's been one problem...
My schedule keeps getting interrupted by rain! I don't belong to a gym, and I usually run outside in parks. But the past week, and tonight again, there's been a lot of rain. Not oh-fun-run raining, but POURING rain or super strong thunderstorms.
WHat do you guys do in that case? Would you just substitute aerobics indoors? Sit that day out? I've never trained before, so I thought you guys might have some suggestions.
Also, do you find any specific raw foods help best to keep your energy up for the longer time of running (an hour or more)? I'm not up to running for a full hour yet, but I know that already I get SUPER hungry after I run, like I burned EVERYTHING up or something.

Cross Train, do something else when it rains too bad to run. Do you run in the Park at night? I think I would invest in a Treadmill, they have Manual ones and Electric ones. Keep those Muscles Stretches.....

avanderland, hey me too about running only after going raw...awesome.
Anyways, sometimes I'll go running in the rain...it rains a lot here. But if I can't be bothered to go running in the rain I'll do an aerobic workout on dvd or something, since I can't afford a gym membership. Or, I may even take a day off, so long as I run at least 5 days out of the week.

Thanks for the suggestions! I wish I could invest in a treadmill, but I live in New York City. What I mean is that I would have absolutely no place to put it! I do have a standing punching bag, which barely fits in my apartment haha, and I guess I can do some cardio kickboxing on days that I cannot run, since tht is indoors...
iamacranberry, How many full rest days do you have each week? I go to Bikram yoga 3x and run 4x, so I only have one full rest day. I love being active, since going raw, and my body often craves activity, thus why I only have 1 rest day. Do you think that will be okay??

Do some Tai Chi indoors.

I usually do SOME kind of exercise each day of the week, even if it is not cardio. If I am not doing cardio on a particular day, I usually do strength training, pilates, etc....something that isn't an aerobic sort of exercise. If I take a full day off it's rare, and usually unplanned. Maybe 2 days per month? But I usually have a day out of the week that's just pilates/resistance bands, etc. And not for very long...maybe 10-30 minutes on those days. Depends honestly what kind of mood I'm in.

You know this is going to sound silly, but I would run in the rain as long as it's not lightening or thundering... At least the rain washes away your sweat lol...:p

Doesn't sound silly at all! I wish I could make myself go running in the rain, but I despise it, so I do things indoors instead.
