Hello all -

Well I found this forum while looking for reviews on DC raw restaurants. Everyone seemed so helpful and friendly that I decided I couldn't miss out on it.

A little about me: I just moved from Hyattsville (just outside of DC) to Glen Burnie (just below Baltimore). I'm 20 years old and currently eating the "Standard American Diet" aka SAD, though I usually avoid meat. I have 2 yorkies who eat raw diets, as in raw meaty bones etc... sorry if that turns anyone's stomach.

I picked up a book called Raw Food/Real World (hope it's OK for me to mention the title) and decided that I'd like to make the transition to a raw lifestyle. At this point I am still researching, reading, and just generally educating myself on the ins & outs of it all.

I hope to learn a lot from everyone here and take advantage of all the recipes posted. :D

Welcome! Best wishes! After reading probably 4 books about raw I got Alissa's book and DVD and I feel it has been the most helpful in making me successful at this. This forum has helped a ton also.

If you really want to know the in's and out's of raw food, read Alissa's book and watch her DVD. The DVD will show you how quick and simple raw food can be to make. The book tells you all about.....well.....everything. You'll be able to first answer your own questions and then answer all the other questions that will be sure to come your way. (where do you get your protien/calcium) It's a must have in my book and I've read most of them out there.
