I had bought 2 gallons of raw virgin organic coconut oil last year and am running out now (I sold some to friends several times also). At the grocery store they had this tiny $2.50 bottle of cononut oil, it didn't say virgin or anything so I thought it would be the cheap chemically made coconut oil but thought for $2.50 it's worth a try. I got home and smelled it and yup, it's smells like a toxic chemical factory made it (the cheap coconut oils like this are extracted using toxic chemicals which remain in the oil).

Should I just throw it out or maybe put 1 tsp of it in my smoothies or something? I thought it would only be tasteless, but it's not, you can smell and taste the extraction chemicals in it.

if it tastes toxic... why would you eat it?

Not to waste it... but yea, it would be stupid. I guess down the drain it goes.

I would say "use it as skin lotion" but if there are toxins in it, I wouldn't want to slather it all over my skin either. Maybe use it as hair conditioner!! (just keep it away from your scalp!)

(Random question: raweater, how are you still a "seed" with over 700 posts, but beckx is a "sprout" with 223 posts? No need to answer that, just wondering aloud!)
