Ooooooh Heather!!! You KNOW what I'm gonna say! Plenty of Ice Cream recipes here! do the search! :p

One good one ~ (not knowing what's in Alissa's at this point): In a processor throw some frozen bananas, honey or agave; a lil vanilla and a dash of salt. To that you can add any berries, chopped nuts, carob and/or cacao if you use it.

One of my favourites is:

One large frozen banana
about 1 cup of fresh papaya
and a little real vanilla

Whip that puppy up in the food processor and remember to put it in a REALLY fancy little desert dish, light a candle, put a tablecloth on the table, some nice background music and wow! You'll be in ice cream heaven. :)

Or, simply, eat it right out of the processor. Depends on your mood I guess. :)

Hi Heather -- Aha, you've discovered what I've used to stay raw through my sweet attacks. If you read the thread at the link that Rawkinlocs has put, above, you'll understand the method. It's oh so very simple. Just start keeping a bag of frozen banana slices in your freezer, because, once you've tried it (especially the Butter Pecan Ice Cream), you'll be addicted.

My daughter loves to make Ice cream with the "coffee can method"
I just use 1 cup of almond milk
1 tbls of vanilla or carob
and any chopped up fruit
kick around the can for 30 min and enjoy! :)

I love ice cream, and although I usually just use frozen bananas a little peach and some berries, I also do a super creamy cashew ice cream

1 cup cashews soaked
1/2 cup dates
1 inch vanilla bean (scraped)
dash of salt
any flavorings you like,

1 cup fruit or 1/2 cup carob,
if you want chunks in your ice cream, add them after the mixture comes out of the champion.

blend all in a food processor,
and freeze in ice cube trays,

When solid, pass through a champion juicer,
this is the closest to ice cream I've been able to come up with.

R.T. ,I *THINK* you put the mix in a smaller coffee can ,then put that can in a larger can and pour ice on top to suround the sides.......

I used to love peanut butter on vanilla ice cream. Now, doing raw, I seem to do better without almonds (the best substitute for peanut butter) so yesterday I added tahini and ground-up sunflower seeds. And it was pretty good and had a peanut-butter-ish consistency.

It seems like there's no end to the combinations you can come up with from a banana base. But usually I just use frozen bananas and a dash of vanilla.
