after being raw for 35 days now i finally got alyssia's book and i am ready to start havin raw fun!!! i have been eating simply thus far but i am craving things like pizza, sweets, and well...... pizza. if i go to karyn's that will curb my craving but since it is about 40 miles east of me i can't go and it gets rather expensive...... 14 bucks for a slice for her deep dish but worth every penny. okay enough of my rambling. my point is i would like to get a dehydrator, spiral cutter, and juicer (this i can wait a bit for) but i wan't it asap. i don't want to wait to have it delivered so my question is: WHERE DO I GET THESE GOODIES TODAY WITHOUT WAITING? what store would carry it. i can get the ronco one from bed bath and beyond. anyone own it? i want a good quality one not toooooo pricy, proper temp, and removable trays to make that lazagna in the book...... sounds yummy.....
i am on my way to raw gormet!!!! YEAH! okay gettin a litte goofy :o

Ronco doesn't have a temp. control. But you can go to Walmart and get a Snackmaster with a temp. control (make sure you look at the box and verify that it DOES have temp. control because a few here have mentioned having that brand but with no temp. control).

Now it only comes with ONE fruit roll tray (what would be used where a recipe might ask for teflex sheets) but you can order more (if you decide to get this model dehydrator, might want to even get your order placed NOW so it'll get to you in a week or so!) by going to their website - http://nesco.com or http://everythingkitchens.com.

You can get a juicer just about anywhere; Target, Walmart, Kmart, etc.

As for the spiral slicer, I've only seen those online myself...I know Alissa sells them on her site.

if you didn't already, be sure to ask him about the temp control! I believe some of their models don't have one but the ones at Walmart do (far as I've seen)!

If you can afford it, I'd advise ordering the Excalibur. The large, square trays are just a dream. And, the temp control, of course.

I can buy spiralizers locally. If you're close to Chicago, I've no doubt that you can, also. I simply asked at my local raw restaurants. Betcha if you call one or two, someone there can give you a hint.
