I've heard that these are the same thing, exactly! but the difference seems to be that the goji berries cost a LOT more at the natural food store and raw food websites, while in Chinatown the wolfberries(which indeed do look exactly like the gojis)cost maybe $4 a pound. Why such a difference? Are the Chinese wolfberries an inferior variant of goji berries, or what. I know in traditional Chinese medicine they are highly valued for their tonic properties. I see them all over the place in the Chinatown here in SF, but have been hesitant to buy any.
