Hi! i'm new to the raw diet -- i'm in day 4 of the 30 day challenge. i really enjoy eating oats. how do you incorporate oats into the raw diet?

i thought i saw something about oat groat??? have no idea what it is (or if i wrote it correctly).

thanks for any help!! :D

If you cook the oats, they're not raw. However, you can eat raw as in muesli, or soak the whole oat (groats) and they become soft enough to eat. However, it's not going to taste the same, so you'll have to get used to the different taste. I personally like muesli very much, as well as the soaked groats. I add a little maple syrup, coconut, coconut oil, raisins or dried blueberries, cinnamon, and pecans.

There is some discussion about commercial oats being steamed before being rolled, so you might want to check around for raw rolled oats, or roll your own from the groats.
