Hi there all! Well, Sunday I started my first-ever juice fast. I'm not raw, never have been, but I heard about juice fasting and thought, "Well, that would be a cool way to kind of restart my life with a healthy start." I am about fifty pounds over my ideal weight, so the weight loss would be an added benefit of learning how to take care of myself.

Well, Sunday went by all right; I only felt hungry a few times. Then today came and I had a monster headache, which I'm not even sure if it was from sinuses or from my lack of food.

And then tonight came.

And I ate.

I ate A LOT.

I'm really upset with myself right now, because I had been thinking the first day of my fast how much I grab food just because it is there, not because I am hungry, and here I go and chow down a bunch of stuff when I'm supposed to be fasting.

But, I'm going to start again soon. I'm not going to let one thing like this mess me up.

Can anyone tell me when they started seeing benefits? I know some weight drops off right away, but I've heard that that is mostly water weight. When did you guys start getting your energy back from those first few days of the fast? When did you notice your skin getting clearer? What other benefits did you notice? How did you motivate yourself to stay on your juice fast?

Thanks!

i started feeling and seeing benefits within days of my first juice feast (which is how i started going raw almost a year ago) you aren't losing water weight... you are releasing the feces in your body and not refilling your body with more. when you stop feasting you will regain about 6-8 pounds once your body is full of sh** again LOL sorry for being so blunt :P

i motivated myself to stay on the feast because i honestly believed it would help me. i wanted to be healthy again. i wanted to feel good about myself... now it's been almost 10 months... i'm 100 pounds lighter, i feel great and i'm soooooooooooooooooo healthy it's amazing. my doctor is THRILLED with my blood test results... he can't believe i'm the same person who was so sick...

:D hope that helps. don't beat yourself up for going off your feast... just get back on the horse and do it again!

Hi!!! I'm on day 6 of my first juice fast. I have had tons of energy so far. More than when i eat solid food! It is not the body that minds, in my case. It is the mind that has desires and wants the stimulation of food and chewing and other tastes. This ,for me, is the challenge. It is also the benefit. This is a physical cleanse, but also a mental/emotional exercise.
I am working on losing weight, but I' not focused on that right now. I'm working on getting clear. In mind and body. Like all things it is a journey. When you are ready, try again. It is an interesting trip!!

Just to add, if fasting is too rigorous, just go raw!! You will feel so good! I was raw for almost 6 months before I could emotionally deal with fasting. It just depends on what works for you.
I have lost 43 pounds so far. ( about 40 to go) and I'm clearing up asthma and a host of other ailments.
Raw is incredibly healing!!
