hey there... i'm chris and i'm new to this forum so i thought i'd introduce myself.
i'm also new to eating raw and am currently eating raw for breakfast and lunch only. i have read a fair bit about raw diet and am very excited about it, though i have a terrible time parting from my cooked food ways - hence my resistance to 100% raw at this time.
i have always struggled with my weight and right now i am at my heaviest ever. a recent outing to look for bridesmaid dresses (i'm in a wedding this august) kicked me into gear.
since then (2 weeks ago) i have had green smoothies for breakfast & lunch with the exception of last weekend (2 days). i feel great and have already lost 5lbs this way.
i found this forum hoping to surround myself with raw food enthusiasts as a way to support my recent change and to keep on track. every one else in my life follows a SAD diet and though they support my efforts towards health they look at me sideways when i have a green smoothie in hand or pass up having some bbq. i hear a lot of "oh come on... a little bit isn't going to hurt you" from my step dad and that was only after stopping to eat meat. i do not even mention raw to my family. even mom would not know what to do with that since cooking for her family has been a huge part of how she shows her love.
anyways... thanks for reading! i look forward to reading about all of you & your experiences. who knows... one day i may even become 100% raw.
cheers
chris :)
