Hello Raw Friends!
I am a 23 year old grad student and am in serious need of some health changes. For those of you who have been to college, you understand the hectic schedules we sometimes deal with. When I started my weight loss journey, I was 267 lbs (in August). Now, I am at 237 lbs., but my progress has been slowing down.
Fortunately, I am not ready to slow down. I want to be fit enough to do all the things I love, such as hiking, trail running, and rock climbing. So, yesterday I bought a smoothie blender, planning to just make my own smoothies once in awhile, no major changes. But when I was looking for recipes, I found this wonderful site.
I tried out a whacky smoothie of kale, spinach, mango, banana, apple, and strawberries. And it was delicious! I never knew eating raw fruits and veggies could be so easy.
So, now I am in a phase of transition which will look a little like the Raw Crunch diet. For breakfast and lunch, I will make a raw green smoothie. I will have two vegetarian (not necessarily raw) snacks (like wasa bread with hummus or a piece of cheese). In the evening, I will allow myself to have one normal meal (having lean meat only once or twice per week).
I know it isn't a 100% raw diet or even vegetarian, but I think even these changes from a typical american diet should really increase my health and I hope you all will support me!
