I would use them in my GS.

thanks. what gs recipe do you use? im trying to figure out what to mix with them to cover the strong taste. i usually use milder tasting greens...it's easy for me to cover up spinach and romain..but collards may be a challenge

I've noticed they're pretty strong too. I thought it was just me... They stopped carrying organic kale at my local store, so this is my only green leaf option.

Anyways... I've been just throwing some dates in with the usual greens and banana.

Last night, my husband made a GS with pineapple, banana, collards and plenty of ice. It was GREAT.

This morning, I had an odd mix that turned out quite nice: collards, a spoon of cacao grinds, banana, pineapple, and a small handful of celery tops (part leaves), along with several dates.

It made me feel SOSO GOOD! I am trying to use more celery for the natural sodium folks keep talking about, and I could definitely taste it, but it was still really good.

With strong greens I use less greens and more fruit.

I love collards! I use them in green lemonade sometimes and Alissa's book has a recipe for collard rolls - stuffed with grated carrot, zucchini and strips of avo - divine.

I'm thinking summer. Would love to have a lemonade recipe since gingincal gave us a teaser. Thanks. Maybe start a new thread for that so all can be blessed.

I use collards in my GS all the time ~ as others before stated use fruits like banana, pineapple, fresh OJ, mango and a little coconut oil. I always add water as well. Yummy ~ nice taste too.
Collard rolls are good too.
Enjoy!

...they might be good marinated in olive oil and sea salt...Alissa has a yummy recipe for "marinated greens" sometimes also known as "wilted greens".....I make the recipe in a ziplock bag...lies flat in the fridge and keeps well for a few days..........................
