Hi all,

I'm new here. My name is Laurie and I live in NY. I run a business from home.

My son actually got us into eating raw foods a little over a year ago. We are "partial raw foodists". We juice every day and get as much fresh fruit and veggies as we can.

I"m always looking for new good recipes, so I look forward to being here and learning.

Thanks;)

Hello

welcome to the forum, I am also new.

I have found making sunflower pate has been helping me stay raw vegan as I think this is preventing cheese cravings (not that it really tastes like cheese).

Ingredients:
=========

sunflower seeds (1 cup)
lemon juice (tablespoon or 2)
raw organic sea salt/himalayan salt or celtic salt (1/8 teaspoon or to taste)
garlic (1/2 teaspoon)

method
======

soak the sunflower seeds overnight

rinse them well, then place them in your blender/food processor with all the other ingredients

blend until a smooth paste

(enjoy)
This last for a few days in the fridge in a glass jar and can be placed on raw crackers or in lettuce or nori rolls, or just on your salad

About the measurements - they are really to taste. I like mine sour as it gives it a bite, so you may need to adjust the amount of lemon and garlic till it tastes right for you.

If you can double the quantity you should, I am just using a personal blender so I can only do small amounts at a time.

Actually, I just realised that I'm not meant to post recipes here. I will also post this recipe under the recipes section, if it isn't there already.
