I'm going to a barbeque this weekend and I want to take some kind of a raw dessert. I was thinking maybe some kind of a pie, but am open to other suggestions. Whatever it is can't have coconut or nutmeg in it because a couple people have allergies and it can't have nuts in it because my SIL hates all things nutty. If there were nuts in the crust of something, she might just not eat the crust. Also, the only gadgets I really have are a cheapo blender and a cheapo food processor, so I can't make anything that requires a dehydrator or juicer. Does anyone have any ideas what I can make?

Does it have to be dessert? Cus i'd brink ears of sweet corn with avos for butter & sea salt or herbemere seasoning. Watermelon. Slaw. Stuff like that!

What about an apple pie using oats & dates for the crust or as crumble topping?

Or chips & tropical salsa? Chop up a mango, a pineapple, a red onion, cilantro, a red hot pepper & add lime juice & a dash of sea salt.

I wanted to make something kinda different, but I figured I could always bring a couple big ol' watermelons if I couldn't think of anything. Everyone loves watermelon. I'm bringing raw corn on the cob and a big ol' salad, too.

I just made it, no recipe. I thin sliced some apples on my slicer. I blended an apple or 2 with psyllium, vanilla bean, apple pie seasonings, sweetner of choice, I forget what else now and made a 'filling' that tastes like apple sauce. I stirred it up with the sliced & chopped apples.. and added in some currants.
oooh love the kebob idea!!

Those look great, do you have the recipe? Are they high in calories?
Thanks

Something super easy that I just used a couple of weeks ago is a giant fruit plate with skewers with a sauce for dipping. I put it on the table and it was the first thing finished.

Ginger, what kind of a slicer did you use? Did you core the apple first?

Yep I cored the apple. My slicer is a cheapy plastic mandolin looking thing. Gets stuff pretty thin and has different attachments.

Well, I just got Alissa's book in the mail today and I've decided to make the Easy Apple Pie. No nuts, no coconut, no nutmeg. It'll work. :)
Thanks for the suggestions anyway, though.
