How do you sprout barley? I have searched under the banana and really didn't find the info I need. I have googled too! I do have 2 kids under five which should help explain my short attention span, so sorry if this is just too easy to find and I haven't. My parsley is wilting and I want to make the meatloaf (burgers) Also how do you sprout buckwheat and flax seeds? I don't have a sprouter or a milk bag.

Check out sproutpeople's website. They have great info on sprouting:

Sproutpeople (http://www.sproutpeople.com/grow/bits/bits.html)

I think for barley you use about the same sprouting technique as you would for most grains that are sprouted. On the sproutpeople's website they put barley under the grain category, so I'd imagine you'd sprout it the same as wheatberries. Can't tell you for sure, tho, as I've never sprouted barley yet.

Barley has been sprouting for 2 days working on day three. The tails have not gotten any bigger than they were after soaking then rinsing for a day. They are jut poking through. Is this enough? I really want to make the meatloaf/burgers! The mushrooms were a big HIT here and so were the bell pepper crackers and the corn chips. I didn't even get any hee hee.
