Hi there - I was hoping to find some good cacao recipes in Alissa's book but the only chocolate-y ones I see use carob powder. Can I substitute cacao for carob or will that not work? (I'm sure this has been asked before but I promise I did a search and couldn't find it!) TIA! :D

Yup! :P

If it says 1/2 cup carob, just do 1/2 cup of cacao. As far as I know they are even exchanges.

The Forager is correct! Back when Alissa first wrote LOLF, raw cacao powder was not an "in thing" so it was ALL about carob. But you can definitely replace carob with cacao in the recipes!

I've found personally that in some things I like to do half and half so that's something else you can try too!

I keep seeing these items in recipes and can't find them around here.
You've been a big help.
