Not sure if you already thought about these and shot them down already ;) but...

Men's forum

And for people trying to gain weight

There could be a reason why you don't have these that I haven't thought about.

Another request would be for a forum dedicated to beating addictions to self-harm whether it be junk-foods, drugs, and other ways we look for pain as comfort and coping.

This is so funny because just yesterday I was thinking the men must be tired of hearing of all the women's issues in the health section...that they might want to have their own for discussion.

Most women stuff go over my head, I hardly understand anything at all. :D Some people get the feeling that raw vegan is for overweight women only. And sometimes it feels that way by the sheer numbers.

RawPaw, haha, regarding your first sentence. I can only imagine. I could stand to learn a thing or two about men's issues and it would be nice to have a separate forum.

I'm not going to touch your 2nd sentence with a ten foot pole. But I do understand. lol.

Uh yeah, I'll touch the second sentence. It is not just for overweight women. I'm sorry, I should probably not say anything but that just rubbed me waayyy wrong. There are women (and men) of all shapes and sizes who turn to raw because there are so many benefits to eating raw, aside from the weight loss. I can't count the number of women who've posted on this forum and said that they would like to gain weight. And I don't know what "sheer numbers" you're talking about, but if we did a poll (which would never happen as that would be extremely rude), we would probably find that a very substantial group of women on this forum are at their perfect weight. But come to think of it, you could make an argument that most of America's past-times are for overweight people because America is the most overweight country in the world. Watch what you say, please.

Didn't mean to be so blunt but if you visit most raw vegan websites, it is the majority of what is there. I don't see why saying so would be rude.

For instance, if you go to welikeitraw.com and see the before and after section 15 of them are overweight women, 6 are overweight men, and only 1 is an underweight female. No underweight men.

I have to agree with this, although it didn't affect me quite as much.

I've been at a healthy weight since the day I was born -- but I am raw because it helps me to focus, helps my skin, makes my stomach happy... and makes ME happy!

And I've met many others (men included) that are also at an ideal weight but are raw because they would like to be healthy.

Soooo -- my point is just that perhaps you both have a point. But I think there are at least more women on this forum! But it's nice to have the male perspective too! And... keep in mind that some members are male even when we don't realize it! :)

Thanks Eva. I happen to see women and men as equal beings in every way, and I know that there's a stigma for men to go on diets in our society. Actually, I'm very glad to see so many overweight women going on raw taking back their lives. Nothing wrong with that.

Men are just too stubborn to admit it. We have a good ol' boy culture where if a man is heavy and owns a giant SUV, he accepted in the club.

Okay, I apologize for getting so mad. I think your statement just caught me at the wrong time. It was kind of a blanket statement, which I'm really not fond of at all, but I didn't have the right to take my anger out on you. I'm very sorry. I understand if that doesn't make up for the way I reacted but I'm just putting it out there because I am genuinely sorry. I believe I'm just under a lot of stress (not an excuse). Take care.

No worries. I shouldn't take myself too, either. :D

I think it would be healthy to have a forum or thread for men's issues. We all need support.

I havent' lost weight being raw............I'm not what's considered overweight but, would like to lose 10lbs. Don't know why I'm stuck............other then eating more even though it's raw...............I haven't gained so that's good.........at first I did now I'm stable.

I knew a gal .............. actually a few women who couldn't gain weight. I always thought they were lying but, i know they werent'. It's just that there are less people who can't gain and more who can't lose.

A big appetite killer for me is depression. I suspect a lot of people suffer from that.

Yes. And for a large percentage of people (including myself) depression is actually a serious appetite booster.

Well, for me it depends on the depression. If I"m really heartbroke and sad that kills it but, if I'm just sorta blah and not feeling right I tend to eat at it.
:(

I can see that. Sometimes I would feel low and get a pint of chocolate whatever and a RedBull, or a thing of popcorn. But when it comes to full on meals, I don't really get into it. I push it away or I don't even bother.

Here's another forum suggestion. Live chat for people over 100 posts. That way it doesn't have to be moderated.
