People have alluded to scars disappearing when eating Raw....is this so? How about scar tissue from surgery???

I have recently experienced this from fasting - not from raw living per se. I was recently on a water-only and then oj and water only fast, and surgical scars definitely faded out - the most significant changes were noted in older ones from my c-sections.

I have surgical scars all over my leg and arm. I also have scars from some of the surgeries where they used staples to close the incisions. Sort of look like railroad tracks. They are fading. Because they were made with a scapel, I don't believe they will completely disappear, but they are definately getting lighter. I've learned to accept them and I'm happy I'm walking, so from this standpoint I don't care about them too much.
What I do care about...
I have a condition in my knee called arthrofibrosis which is an overproduction of scar tissue directly in the knee cavity which restricts mobility. My body heals fast and so it tends to overproduce scar tissue. A good thing for simple cuts, but not so good with major injuries. As a result I cannot bend my knee beyond 90 degrees or extend it completely to zero degrees. I have noticed in the past year, my knee is bending more and also the definition of my knee cap is visible...I can see my veins etc. Before it was just one big swollen painful blob because I have a lot of metal in my knee and leg.
When you break bones and tear muscle tissue, you usually get a lot of internal scar tissue. I can't see it, but I can feel the difference of the scar tissue breaking up in all of my tissues.
It was one of the primary reasons I decided to go raw because surgery to remove the scar tissue only exacerbated the situation with my knee. It just created more scar tissue!
I agree with Mattye, I think the combination of fasting and eating raw definately is helping. While I'm fasting my body is going after the dead cells.

Scars on my body have tended to fade faster. I noticed this the same time I started to notice all the amazing skin changes on raw, softer, smoother, younger looking, vibrant, less to no blemishes all over my body etc.
None of my scars have gone away, but raw definitely helped my scars to diminish and smooth out. As frugal raw noted, the most significant changes have been in my older scars, especially the stretchmarks from pregnancy.

I am sure hoping my pregnancy-related stretch marks do fade for my own satisfaction. My twins are now 22 years old and I would not even think about wearing a bathing suit, but for me personally, I would enjoy not having my well-deserved motherhood scars ! My waist went from 38 inches from before I became pregnant to over 60 inches by the time they were delivered! My stretch marks cover my entire stomach area and breasts, too.
Five pregnancies for six kids did my skin no big favors. I remember my doctor chuckling as he made a comment that I had developed stretch marks on top of stretch marks!

As per Earth Clinic, I've made a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda and applied the paste to my keloid scar, covered with a cotton ball and a bandaid. By morning, the scar is much flatter and smaller. I've done it twice now and plan to continue til it's gone. Don't know how this would work on other scars.
