Hello everyone,

I just logged in for the first time since June. At the beginning of last summer, I was doing so well on raw and then I totally caved into cultural/social pressure and began eating cooked. I am so annoyed because I was looking so good, ten pounds lighter than now. Oh well, I am back now and transitioning back to raw. I am concentrating on adding in as much raw food in my diet as possible but I am not putting pressure on myself to be 100% raw just yet. These past few days I have been oscillating between 85-95% raw. Anyway, I am glad to back!

Thanks spicyfull and IamLoved!

I am really trying to focus on eating what I want under the umbrella of raw and living vegan foods and balancing my sometimes hectic lifestyle. Somehow I managed to make green lemonade yesterday before work. I even cleaned up everything, drank all the juice and made it to work on time! woohoo! And felt wonderful and refreshed at the beginning of the day! I am sippin' on a green smoothie now and planning on eating lunch and dinner out since I will be in Manhattan probably until late this evening.(seeing the chronicles of narnia: prince caspian tonight! :p ) I am lucky because the restaurant, Quintessence, here in NYC has a lunch combo for about 10 bucks, pretty cheap around these parts. Then I am going to Raw Soul up in Harlem for dinner before the movie. YUM!

Again, thanks for all the encouragement everyone! I need the support for those veggie burger cravings that pop up sometimes after a hard workout or dance rehearsal!

Oh man, I am SO JEALOUS you have raw restaurants near you!! I have to drive 45 minutes just to get to my closest organic grocery store... waahhhh!

That green lemonade and green smoothies sure are addictive, aren't they?! I just had a green smoothie a couple of hours ago and just READING the words, I am already craving another one!

Yeah I am lucky to have restaurants and stores that cater to the raw and living food lifestyle. I had a pizza at Quintessence last year and it was soooooooo good!

I am all about green lemonade and green smoothies. I made like 40 ounces of green smoothie this morning and I am STILL trying to finish it!
Green lemonade is just....electifyinfg! All that life energy from the greens just flowing through the body, with the lemon juice just giving it that zest! I would never have thought that I drink that green could get my so excited! I mean I never thought I could make swiss chard and romaine lettuce delicious in a juice but apparently with 2-3 apples and a lemon, it's sublime! When I make it, it comes out to 16 ounces of juice which I finish pretty quickly. Hoorah for green lemonade! :)

Hi jacsam!

Yes, I am really appreciating what raw is all about this time around. And I am also listening to my body alot more and understanding my own likes and dislikes. For example, while I do like salad alot, I can't eat it everyday, for lunch and dinner. I was trying to do that last year and I think that contributed to my falling off the wagon, not feeling satisfied. This time around, I stuff the blender with greens and fruit and make a smoothie, a much better way for ME to get my daily greens in addition to fresh juices.
I just had a raw Sun-dried Tomato Basil Fettucine with a salad on the side from a local raw food spot, and I am stuffed. Well not stuffed, but really satisfied and no longer hungry.

In regards to listening to my body, last year I was eating lots of nuts and feeling sluggish. I realise now that I can have nuts but maybe a handful in one sitting is the maximum.

I guess this is just all part of the journey, right?

cheers!

Hi! I'm pretty new around here, and have been 100% raw for 1 week and feel amazing. Green smoothies have saved my soul from the temptations of SAD, whenever I'm having a craving I just blend up a new tasty concoction. And I'm buying a blender today so I can try out this green lemonade that everyone's so in love with. I've been listening to my body a lot more as well. So, welcome, and it's great to see similar experiences reported here.

Hi Frugal Raw and corazon!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I just came from the vegetable and fruit market and it felt great to fill my grocery bags with fresh produce. Green lemonade is on the menu for this evening.

I love this lifestyle! All the counting calories, fat grams, carbs, etc... was driving me crazy before. Now I just feel free! I go with my hunger and grab fruits and veggies, a fresh juice or treat myself to a raw meal at a restaurant. I feel so much lighter and energetic!

Have a great weekend everyone!
