I just found the onion bread recipe and absolutely love it! However, it's not liking me. I seem to have the most horrendous gas ever when I eat it. Could it be the flax? I don't use the nama shoyu cause I can't toleratre it, so can't be that.
I tend to nibble it throughout the day, while it's dehydrating, do I need to limit it more? Is the flax too ground, or not ground enough? I remember I made the onion bread on other time and didn't notice the problem was this severe.
I was really hoping to use this when I went on a month long holiday back to the US, is this salvagable, or should I just stay away from it?
Thanks guys.:o

I experienced a lot of gas when I made the onion bread a few months ago. I haven't had it since. Some foods simply cause certain detox symptoms in our individual bodies. It's not the onion bread, it's what it's dredging up. The onion is a blood cleanser, a super food. I may give it a try again, but the gas was pretty bad and is seared in my memory. I recommend just not eating it for awhile and listening to your body. Just a suggestion. Best wishes.

Glad I am not the only one, boy it's aweful! I eat onions in other things quite oftn, so thought it was the flax. Maybe just the combination of things?
Guess, I will have to find something else to make and birng with me Any thoughts?

Yes some food combinations don't work. I can't eat a lot of foods I used to have no problem with because of the food combining aspect. It could be the flax/onion combo. I didn't put flax in my onion bread, but I did use a lot of onion, lol, so maybe that's what caused the gas for me. Let us know if you come up with a great, easy to digest onion bread recipe.

For the gas, ginger root & green smoothies work really well for me if you still have it.

Hi there,

It probably is the flax. Flax has a LOT of fiber. You might want to try some other flax bread or crackers to see if that agrees with you and then you would know if it was the flax or the onions.

Blessings,

Audrey

Thanks. I think it is the flax, I had some major issues last night besides the gas. Very unpleasant. I guess will have to find another onion bread recipe. Ya know, we get so muhc fiber from veggies and fruit, I guess you can have too much fiber, and your body get really cranky when that happens let me tell ya!
Anyone have a good flax-less onionbread recipe, or one with alot less flax?
