Anyone got a quick answer?

I'm shopping for Raw Coconut oil. The last I ordered on line from Alissa has O sat. fat. The stuff I'm looking at at Whole foods has 12.5 sat fat.

WHY IS THERE SUCH A DIFFERENCE?

i would think that it means that raw coconut oil contains 12.5 g of sat fat.

i have no idea why Alissa's is different.

I'm guessing a typo on Alissa's? Coconut oil has lots of sat fat. The other one sounds right to me .. :confused:

My Nutiva coconut oil has 12.5g of sat fat as well. I don't see how a coconut oil could possibly have 0 sat fat. Most of the fat it contains is sat fat. If you took out all the sat fat, it wouldn't be coconut oil. It doesn't seem right. A typo, indeed.

OK... I thought sat fat was the BAD kind and do not eat it. But....

Ya I'm looking at the jar of Alissas Raw Coconut Oil and it say's fat 2.5
Sat fat 0...

I would be cautios about 0 fat one, its probably processed in some way. I wouldnt worry about what kind of fat it is. Who cares. Natual and pure is all that matters.

River Mom: sat fat is not the "bad" type of fat per say. You actually need some sat fat in your diet. Trans fat is the one you should avoid at all costs. Here's an article I found:

There are conflicting messages out there but I've read a lot that coconut oil is very healthy.
