I discovered raw foodism in the darkest period of my life and have never looked back. I was overweight, sick, and on the verge of an eating disorder with all the starving and binging. My appetite was so out of touch with my body, I wasn't sure about anything anymore regarding health. I was working out several hours a day and working a physically demanding job and I was STILL overweight. I was 5'4" at 160 lbs, which may not seem like a lot, but at the age of 18, trust me, that is too much...
Raw food came as a blessing. I dropped 10 lbs the first week, effortlessly. I soon became in touch with my physical needs and craving the right foods. I went to university and lost 15 lbs (instead of putting on "freshman 15"). Now some of the girls that were thinner than me before are much heavier. I shared this experience with many of my university friends and some of them have experienced similar results.
Where I am now: I did my bachelor's in 3 years (thanks to good health and good attitude). I have been very busy with exams and now getting settled in a new city. I find that I need motivation to keep going. I've been 50% raw last couple of weeks (interviews all over downtown) no time to eat and I dropped some weight, but my skin looks awful. I am extremely sensitive to change in diet and the environment (air quality, etc). I am thinking of a 100 day raw food challenge (I've done 30 day ones, twice, to advertise raw food and its results to my friends). So this is why I am here.
you will see a lot of me from now on.
I look forward to talking to all of you!
