Hey All,

I was 6 days at about 95% raw doing pretty well. Eating a ton of green smoothies, and fruits, etc. I was starting to feel really good. Yesterday I went to Vegas for the day and absolutely pigged out. I are really bad stuff--Reubens, French Fries, lots of coffee and diet coke, etc.

Today, I woke up with Flu symptoms. Stuffy nose, achy, sore throat. I went right back to raw today and my diet has been good today.

I'm wondering if I got sick from eating all that junk yesterday after being pretty clean for a week or if the sickness is a detox symptom. Any ideas?

Sounds like it to me... if I eat cooked baddies...I often get a sore throat and sniffles too! Maybe it taxes the system that was happily whirling along. Could be an allergy too.

I make no secret of the fact that I do sometimes eat vegan/vegetarian;(like when I go to a restaurant with a friend or eat at someone else's house; this is perhaps two to three times a month. I draw the line at meat however, since I certainly feel better when I don't have it.) I always feel better when I eat raw. I don't have stomach aches or any digestive bothersome pains when I eat raw. I know it's what I need to do for the most part. Our systems get use to certain food and when we change it, sometimes we pay the price. Can't really say for sure about the detox. Perhaps someone else can shed some light on that subject. Fresh food is certainly our best friend.
