I just went raw today. I'm excited and nervous! I've done my research and know that this is the way to live. My husband isn't convinced (yet!). So, I will be raw on my own.

I'm already experiencing strong cravings for something salty and crunchy. Any suggestions? Dehydrator will be delivered later this week.

Thanks!

Celery is good in a crunch (no pun intended!) but when your dehydrator arrives, get your favorite nuts and/or seeds, soak them overnight, drain then, toss them in a little olive oil, season them with sea salt (and if you want, add other spices like cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, etc.) and then dehydrate until dry and crunchy!

Also search our recipe section for "kale chips"...delicious, healthy, crunchy snack! If you like chips, you'll love kale chips!

OH...and welcome! :D

What about radishes w/ a little bit of salt on them? This helps me when everyone around me is eating popcorn.

Nuts kept me going in the beginning and then I didn't desire them . May not be salty till you can do them in the dehydrator like Rawkinlocs suggested but it helps that crunch factor in the beginning. I soak almonds in nama shoyu then dehydrate. Yummy ! Wish I had some now !

Sweets, salt and something crunchy were my 3 biggest.....Rawkinlocs really gave you some great ideas. Enjoy your dehydrator when it comes....it was like Christmas when I got mine.

If you live near a HFS you could also pick up some raw crackers. One line I like very much is by Lydia's Organics and they come in several flavors.

If you ahve an international (middle eastern) market nearby consider picking up some "raw" vacuum packed olives. They are sold in little see through pouches with the pit in. MAke a pate wrapped with some crun romaine lettuce.

Once the dehydrator arrives make a tone of cail chips, great light snack on the go and you can season with SHoya or sea salt to your liking.

Welcome!!! I wish you the best of rawesome health! I love my dehydrated corn chips for those salt cravings! I sprinkle sea salt on the processed corn and peppers right before putting it in the dehydrator:D.
