Hi, I am a 100% raw fooder for 1 year. I am almost raw for 5 years before that. I am on my 5th day of a juice fast. My hands are yellow but they have been yellow off and on for the last couple of months. I am on my 6th colonic treatment in the last six weeks and my hands are still yellow. Actually looks like it is getting worse. I have had NO carrots in the last 3 months due to candida. Does anyone know what this is? I'm getting nervous. Thanks for any replies.

Probably liver detox.

Hey, I was just searching doing a search for yellow skin. I've been raw for almost 2 years and I'm always getting comments on my yellow skin. It's been way too long to be detox. I do not eat a lot of carrots either. I do eat lots and lots of greens. I feel fine. So have not bothered with a doctor.

Just had my passport photo's taken and they do look mighty yellow! I say "it's my tan" but living in the midwest we've not had the warm weather much yet.

How do you know that? The liver holds stuff for years and years and years because it doesn't know how to disburse it.

Hi, I feel fine also, but is there something else I should be doing besides colonics and juice fasting? Thank you.

You are right Revell, I do not know. It could be detox.

Do you suggest doing anything to expedite this detox? I exercise daily, sleep 6 to 8 hours a night, and eat simple raw foods (very rarely dehydrated and not many nuts). Other than the yellow skin I feel great. Could this be something more serious I’m ignoring?

If it were me, I wouldn't concern myself. As far as something more to do, if there is, it's not in my head yet. Were you on any kind of drugs for any length of time? Eating lots of cooked cheese as in pizza?

My understanding is that simple things like lemon juice in water first thing in the a.m. is good for liver/gb cleansing.

Other then that, at this time, it's not coming to me.

Hmmm, o.k. Qigong. You familiar with it? There are various forms but one you can learn is Chilel. http://www.chilel-qigong.com/

Before my juice fast started, I was eating WAYYYYYY to many nuts and seeds. I mean crazy amounts of nuts at night, which is one of the reasons I am doing this fast so that I can break some addictions. Do you think my skin could be yellow because of the large amounts of nuts at night? I hope this juice fast works.

I've had the same problems for quite a while now.

My skin is yellow. The palms of my hands and soles of my feet are orange.

The doctors have been concerned. They have run numeruous tests for my liver. I've seen a dermatologist. The general consensus is the quanity of veggie I eat (hence, my name - Veggie Luver!) It's not just orange fruits and veggies that turn your skin yellow/orange. It's the green ones too.

I'm no longer worried about something serious being wrong with me.

If you want peace of mind, have your doctor do bloodwork. Make sure they test you for hepatitis and every possible hereditary liver diseases.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for all your replies. I feel better. I just had all blood work done and a blood analysis and everything came back very good, so I'm not going to worry about it anymore.

Thanks again, Debbie

Oh yes, the greens do it! I remember in high school biology when we took spinach mush and separated out the pigments on special paper. There was so much of the orange beta-carotene in there. That was a fun day :-)
