View Full Version : Green Lemonade
I'd like to make a green lemonade...I've heard it mentioned here and there. Any recipe? I only use dates for a sweetener...I wonder how it would taste with some date magic instead of agave or honey!

I'm very new to Raw, but I've been using the following "recipe" for Green Lemonade and it doesn't need a sweetener other than the apples....
1 head of romaine
2 apples (or more for sweeter)
1-2 handfuls of baby spinach
1 large or 2 small lemons
Juice it up, drink it down.
:)
Even my 3 year old likes it this way! Oh, wait, 3 and a HALF actually ~ she likes to correct me on that. :D

I use a lemon, pineapple (a good size slice or as much as you want to sweeten), and lots of Kale. The kids and I love it and it tastes like lemonade!! Yum!

So Claudine and MaineMomof4 are you both saying that you juice this vs using the vitamix. This sounds sooo good and a great way for me to get some extra greens.

Yes, I do juice it because I don't have a vitamix and my blender doesn't get spinach as smooth as I'd like it. I would venture to guess that you could do it either way though....would a vitamix make it thicker?
(I also used kale once in place of the romaine, but I don't really care for the taste of kale. Although, with enough apples I suppose it would mask the taste of it.)

No I use the vitamix and I actually forgot to add that I do add water so it is a little thinner but it is not as thin as regular lemonade would be but I absolutely love it!!! You may be able to thin it out more if you used pineapple juice instead of the actual pineapple, not sure never tried it. Good luck!

1 thumb-sized piece of ginger root
1 head romaine
1 big handful spinach or kale or parsley - whatever dark green leafies I have on hand :)
1 cucumber
