My 9 tray arrived yesterday and WOW, I'm so excited I wasn't even sure where to start. I wasn't expecting it until Tuesday (it's Sunday) so I just ended up putting a batch of crackers into it with separate trays of pineapple rings, cinnamon banana slices and raspberry leather.
Question: are the flavors going to mingle? Is it best to keep flavors separate, like sweet with sweet and savory with savory??
Thanks!
ps- if anyone has a good method to get raspberry pulp to become seedless, please share...I'm having a heck of a time over here with my sifter and my mini colander!!

Oh dear, the flavours probably will mingle. I tend to find that onions and other members of the onion family are the worst culprits.
These days I only dehydrate savoury with savoury and sweet with sweet.
But it might not be that pronounced.
And I put my raspberry pulp (and do the same with things like strawberries) through a metal sieve. Like a tea strainer except bigger. Seems to get most to all of the seeds out. I put the pulp into the sieve, gravity gets some of it through, but I use a spoon and scrape the bottom of the sieve to get the rest through.
I do the same with passion fruit for a lovely sauce (can't stand the seeds, but love the pulp!).

Thank you! I think I'll need to get an actual sieve because the strainer just didn't do the trick with the berries. Oh well!
And so far, the pineapple and bananas seem to be just fine....no onion taste to speak of. BUT, I think from now on, I'll keep sweet and savory flavors separate! Thanks again for the advice.

We'll find out about the "co-mingling" today as I put onion bread in with banana leather. I wonder how the onion bread's going to taste with the 'nana flavor? :D

Haha! More like how's the nana leather going to taste with onion highlights!
mmm.... onion nana leather.
Mum always used to say experiment with flavours.... :).

Yeah, I know. Just being funny. Onion bread is out... seems to be o.k. No 'nana flavor. :D
Waiting for the 'nana leather.

I've done savery things with sweet thing and never seem to have a flavor mingling problem, so I don't even think twice about it any more. The only thing I would think twice about would be the onion bread....when I made that my whole house smelled like onions and when I went to pick my daughter up from school, she asked why I smelled like onions.
