I was just wondering if anyone can tell me how Carob or Cacao butter taste compared to Cacao powder? I've only used Cacao powder and 2 of my kids seemed to like it alright but one wasn't so keen about it. I wasn't really a huge fan of it since I am used to SAD milk chocolate taste since that's what I grew up with. Is there a way to make cacao powder not taste so bitter or potent? I did add agave but it still had a strong taste that I'm not used to. I'd love to try some more of the "chocolate" recipes I've found but nervous to since I didn't really like the cacao flavor a ton. Thanks everyone!

My son loves cacao powder, especially mixed with coconut oil and agave nectar (it makes a great 'Ice Magic' topping on ice creams, goes on liquid then hardens up into solid chocolate).

He doesn't seem to mind the dark choc flavour. You could make it more milky by swirling in a sweet nut cream (macadamias and cashews work best). I've found the best nut cream for this is one that has nuts, some sweetener, a pinch of salt and some vanilla seeds.

See, I don't think kids need caffeine and cacao has SO much!
I would personally stick with carob. It's a natural laxative too which is usually a great thing for kids. My daughter loves it in almond milk with a tiny bit of either agave or dates blended in.
