Hi Everyone,

Some of you may remember me from a couple years ago. It has been more than a year since I last posted.

I am back with my tail tucked between my legs, having fallen off the raw wagon big time. After being nearly 100% raw for about 2 years, I was back to a horrible SAD diet until a month ago. :( I felt awful all the time.

A month ago I was in a bad car accident (as the passenger) in which I broke my nose, jaw, and 4 ribs, along with various other bruises and scrapes. Since I have my jaw wired, I am very limited to what I can eat. My doctor suggested protein drinks and milkshakes, but after a couple weeks of that I am exhausted all the time and feel bloated as I've never been able to digest milk well.

So I recalled my green smoothie days and have been drinking them as well as preparing fresh fruit and veggie juices and some raw tomato soup.

I've been reading this board over the past couple days and wondering why on earth I left this way of life. I've been making a lot of life changes over the past year, including the fact that I will be moving to England at the end of the year. I want so much to be part of this glowing, vital community once again. Once the wires are off, I want to crave apples and salads, not hamburgers and junk food.

Even though I'm embarrassed at having to start all over again, I am so glad to have made this decision. I look forward to "seeing" those who were here when I was, and to meet some new folk. :)

Sorry to hear about your accident. I can relate to your milk digestion problems as I have that issue also. I started my health journey in search of finding a way to stop the horrible gas I was experiencing. I was eating lots of cheese at the time and for some reason when I thought about eating I craved more cheese and the more cheese I ate the worse the problem became. I finally figured out the source of my gas problems after reading a book by the Diamond's titled "Fit For Life". After my gas stopped I was so amazed at the power of diet that I decided to try out the other principals as described in the book and everything I tried just made things better. I have been on this health journey now for many years and the "discovery" of the all fresh raw lifestyle has resulted in moving to a whole new level of health and wellness. I wish you success on your journey.

Welcome back!

You can start now. Get a wee blender if need be. It can start with just one drink a day.

Wherever you are at, I wish that you are free of pain and have a speedy recovery!

Sometimes our journey to a destination is not a straight path and may have detours and even setbacks. The important thing is to regroup and and keep going.

Maybe the lessons learned during those setbacks may even be very helpful for future challanges that may be faced further along the way.

Welcome back.

Ya know? sometimes the universe will give us a nudge, sometimes a REAL big kick! Sounds as though you got the kick.

Glad to have you back! Lots going on here; I'm still mischevious. :D

Heal well, hun, 'k? Lots of great support here.

Hey Autumn welcome back and heal well and strong. Broken bones are not fun. As Revvell mentions, I got a swift kick in the butt when I was hit by a Universe 2x4 a few years ago...my motorcycle accident. :o It woke me up to really taking exceptional care of myself and to get back on the healing path. Everything happens for a reason...that saying is kind of played out, but it's true!

Blessings and enjoy your smoothies.

Love,
Crystal

Thanks everyone for the nice welcome back!

I look forward to getting to know the people who have come aboard since I left.

EZRider - The Diamonds' book was also what introduced me to raw! I read it about five years ago and was blown away at the time!

YO Revvell and Rawkinlocs! Nice to see you both again! I missed the ol' "family" here. Revvell - of course you're still mischievious - wouldn't want you any other way!

I have all the equipment I need as I always knew deep down that I would return!

Off to blend something!

Autumn:)
