raw 6 months, but eating much more healthy for a year- a yr ago was when I changed my life , and the baseline it seems is this photo taken of me at a fundraiser for a local cat shelter last year- here we are a year later, and my daughter took a picture of me again at the same fundraiser=)
sadly my face is making very slow progress- but between the 2 sets of pics I lost 60 pounds and I cured some issues!

Actually I do see delicate subtle changes. Your face and neck does seem more sculpted--naturally. Had you gone to a doctor to have it done surgically, s/he wouldn't have done a better job to make the small changes all in the right places.

I am sorry I was not more specific- I meant I am not having luck with my redness/rosacia issues. I definatly can see my face is thinner and not all bloated- I love that=)
Thanks you guys!

You look fantastic and so healthy!! You knocked at least 10 years off and look so perky and happy. I too have skin problems but with raw I noticed that the problems has lessened and my regular old skin looks fantastic. I think it is all a process of undoing and you are undoing fantastic!!!
Keep it up!! Such inspiration!!

well, since going mostly raw my serious pms/period issues have mostly gone away, i have tons more energy, I do not get sick all the time, and my mental health is better by far=)
I have about 40-50 more pounds to go, and I have been in limbo for a few months- but its going to go, sooner or later- not rushing the process!:D

debilana: I read that applying coconut oil to your skin will clear up rosacea (extra virgin, unrefined coconut oil is the best).
You look great, by the way!! Congratulations!!!!

oh my goodness.... truly -- you look fabulous.... there is sooo much difference in the before and after photos.... You have a very beautiful face my dear debilana.... and you have a lovely glow about you!
the rosecea as you mentioned.... although - you see it.... and it seems so evident.... it is better.... (have you tried using the coconut oil to wash your face with?) I don't know if that would help - but it certainly wouldn't hurt - and it might be a good experiment!
I showed your pics to my husband... He looked and he looked again... and he said..."Wow! She looks so young in the skinny picture!" I thought that was cute... he called it the 'skinny picture'!!
congratulations for a job well done... You have obviously worked very hard at regaining your health... it shows in your glow...
and smile girl... because you truly ARE beautiful!!! (and ps ... I looove kitties.... I think the work you are doing is really great....) ;)

Thank you guys=)
What a sweet pony /kitty picture! I love allanimals, but cats are allI have space for- so we adopted a few and support the shelter by going to the show every year. The big one in my arms is allyn, and the little kitten in the cage behind me in the "fat"picture -lol- is Nic- who is all grown up this year and decided the cat show sucks hard- he was scared the whole day! :(
I have done many things for my face- short of the anibiotic cream the doc gave me last year- I have not used it yet. My newest idea is washing with Dr. Bronners, then some raw honey, then I use a lovely MSM lotion a few times a day- even with no skin issues, this cream is without a doubt the nicest thing I have ever put on my face! It leaves my skin silky smooth with no greasy residue.
Since I started this routine a month ago I get almost no new breakouts on my face. The redness is the same , but the associated acne is much better.
I am trying to also take MSM internally everyday, except for the days I forget, lol. Still worling on that one!:D

You look great! I can certainly see the difference.
Since cutting tomatoes and bell peppers (I know, sad...) out of my diet for a while, my rosacea has cleared up. It flares every time I have some now, and is very obviously caused by it. Although also nightshade, eggplant doesn't seem to bother my skin. Potato is also in this family. Don't get much of that on raw though!
Before figuring out the food componant, my skin got a lot better when I stopped putting fancy skin care products on it, even ones that said they were for sensitive skin. Now I just use a Neutrogena extra gentle cleanser and Cetaphil lotion. For someone who was raised on healthfood store products, with a family completely shunning pharmacy/supermarket stuff, I really thought my face would fall off using them! But my skin seems to be happier.
My mom recently bought me a gift of some locally made shea butter skin creme that is supposed to be good for "problem" skin. I might try it in a bit. I'm just happy that it's finally not so blotchy red I don't want to disturb it!
Wow you are showing great progress! Congrats on the 60 pounds!:D

i have a routine. my feet hit the floor... i pee... i drink 20 oz of water then i get an orange and freshly squeeze it, add my 1T of MSM and drink it down.
then i get on with my day. it helps to NOT forget LOL
you are looking great! keep RAWKIN' it!

My best friend has Rosacea too. (She's not raw though...) Please let me know if you do try the coconut oil and if it helps you, okay? I'll suggest it to her too. Thanks for the tip RawSinger and StarFire!
