What is the Green Smoothie Challenge?

The Green Smoothie Challenge is a non-profit project initiated by living food educator Anand Wells. The possibility of the project is to offer vibrant health and self empowerment for all individuals, communities and nations through:

A free challenge to participants to drink 500ml to 1 litre of Green Smoothie a day (200 to 400 grams of dark leafy green vegetables blended with 200 to 400 grams of fresh fruit and water) for a minimum of 14 consecutive days and to register and record their results and testimonials on a website www.greensmoothiechallenge.org which will also be offering support, recipes and a forum for Green Smoothie drinkers.

having 5000 people participate in the challenge (worldwide) by June 5th 2008 as a public awareness raising exercise of the amazing health benefits of living foods and particularly leafy greens.

Promoting the pioneering work of Victoria Boutenko and her book "Green for life" through the website, with 100% of the profits from the sale of Victoria's book going back into covering the projects expenses. (This is a community project for the community by the community and all work is being done on a totally voluntary basis) We are also seeking funding from the Australian Government and other funding bodies to help grow the project so it impacts as many people as possible. We are also aiming to have volunteers teach green smoothies in schools, to individuals and to the public health system in a "Pay It Forward" program.

How much is 200-400 grams?

400 grams = 14 ounces, about two large heads of rommaine lettuce, or one BIG bag of baby spinach

Thanks Aleesha. There is a link there to see Victorial Boutenko making a green smoothie which I really enjoyed too. Thanks!
