I have been researching Spirulina. It seems like it is really good for the body. I was thinking of adding some to our gs in the mornings. A friend of mine really loves it and says it is great to boost the immune system, high in iron and B12 (which is good for us vegans). My hubby has an immune deficiency and recently began working at the county jail where he is surrounded by germs. It's only his 2nd week and he is very ill. Was thinking this might be good for him to boost his immune system?

Any other natural immune boosters that can easily be added to smoothies or swallowed? (He won't do anything that is complicated or takes a whole lot of effort) Thx!!

I use spirulina. It is wonderful!

It is also one of the many ingredients in Vitamineral Green.

I do I do! I throw some spirulina and chlorella into one GS per day. When I was researching foods to help boost pre-conception health (we are trying to have a baby), they were both on the list and they had a list of other great qualities too (for instance, I seem to remember chlorella helps lower bad cholesterol).

It made me nasaeous, maybe you can tolerate it better.

Speaking of immune system, I do take 2-4g of ascorbic acid mixed with water daily. Works great!

Thanks for all the great replies...where do you buy yours? I know I can get it at my local hfs, but I have a family of five and was looking to buy it in bulk as economical as possible. Would you suggest the powder or tablets??

Thanks again!

I get mine at the hfs and buy it in bulk, which is much cheaper than buying it all packaged and labelled. It's great stuff. It's also a great source of protein.

Powder is usually cheaper than tablets.
