Victoria B. has a chart about this, with her version of the food pyramid.

Please remember that the real food pyramid is put out by the dairy counsel. How right can that be? That's like when the cigarette companies say that smoking doesn't kill or something.

You can get a Raw Food Pyramid at www.watershed.net

This is the way we need to live and eat. Water is the substance that the body needs then foods, greens in greatest volume and algae on top.

Of course, keep in mind that there are many different raw food pyramids. There are some people who think that you should mainly eat fruits, while others think that you should eat mainly veggies and very little fruit. The same thing goes for nuts, seeds, and supper-foods. My personal favorite is Victoria Boutenko's, based on the chimpanzees diet. Since chimpanzees and humans share something like 99.4% of the same genes, and I feel my best when I follow it, it makes sense to me. I can't find a link for it, but it is something like 50% fruit (keep in mind that many "veggies" are technically fruits, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, bell peppers, etc.), 25-50% greens, and then up to 5% nuts and seeds. The charts are in her book Green for Life, which is a great book that I enjoy reading.

There are so many different opinions out there, and at first it is really hard to stay on a "perfect" raw diet. I know I still have trouble not gorging myself on the nuts and oils! Ah well, I'll get there someday.:)

Really...chimps? Because they are meat eaters.

Really...chimps? Because they are meat eaters.

For what it's worth, chimpanzees are 90% vegetarian. Five percent of their diet is insects, and the other five percent is whatever dead meat they might find when foraging. Mostly, though, their diet is vegetarian with a few insects. They don't eat a lot of meat.
