View Full Version : breathed in carpet glue fumes

Hey

I finally switched flats, but ended up in a bedroom which had just had a new carpet laid that day (my own fault; I was given a choice; thought smell would go!). Fortunately, the window opened right up, so the room was beautifully ventilated all night, but fumes were still quite strong.

Sinuses are now quite blocked.

Any good detox remedies for the nose and throat?

I've since switched rooms - again. Today has been like something out of Marx Brothers film(!)

Thanks

Cinammon

Hello again,and welcome back!:)
Hee hee,I liked the Marx brothers comment-you have quite the dry wit!

I would recommend vapourising-I think that's what it's called.
You add essential oils(Eucalyptus is a good one to try)to a pot
of steaming water, put your face over the pot,and drape a towel over
your head.

Or better yet, you could try something called a Neti pot, which supposedly is excellent
for clearing sinuses.
See below:

For your throat,if you are not averse to using honey, you could try a hot
cuppa with lemon and honey.
And if you want, you could also add a bit of cayenne pepper to taste.
Supposedly it's excellent for detox.
Hope you feel better;I've had sinus problems in the past, and it's not fun!

Btw,totally off topic, but I've been meaning for the longest time to e-mail
you back on the subject of 'exes'.
I'm sorry I haven't responded sooner, especially since I had told you to message me anytime-I hadn't forgotten, things have just been very hectic/chaotic lately-due in part to said ex-boyfriend.LOL
But if you're still interested in any insight/advice,I'd be happy to share it.
