Hello

I'm 4 days raw (about 90%). I bought some organic dried mangos from Whole Foods...is this a raw food? Do you think they use heat to dry these?

Well, yeah they use heat. How much, how high? Who knows? Personally I don't worry about it especially since you're at 90% (or so). I'd be more concerned about sulfites.

Thanks Revell! What are sulfites? The ingredients just say "organic mangos".

I think the only way you're going to know if they're truly raw is if you call or e-mail the company that makes them and ask what temperature they're heated to.

the more raw you become, the more you can tell if something is truly raw or not by how you feel

*if you feel devitalized or yucky a few minutes or hours later, then generally it's not

if you feel like you're super woman or super man after consuming the food, then generally it is raw

just my experience and opinion

*with the exception of detoxification symptoms of course, which you get good at distinguishing also :p

mberam: if the package doesn't list sulfites as one of the ingredients, then I don't think you have to worry about it. And since what you're buying is organic, the products probably won't contain sulfites at all.

It may or may not be. I always assumed that they were not, but they are a fine choice while you are in transition. I wouldn't worry about it.

You can always dehydrate your own fruit just to be sure if you really like dried fruit and want to have it often. It is so much more affordable to dry your own too! Just stock up on yummy fruit (especially in the summer when delicious fruit abounds) and start dehydrating.

Blessings,

Audrey
