Hi, I am 100% raw for 1 year now and 5 years before that of almost raw. A couple of days ago my eyes started severely itching. No discharge, no crust. Just a little redness with SEVERE itching. I went to my doctor and she gave me Zylet. It is loteprednol etabonate and tobramycin. I'm really scared to put this in my eyes since I believe it is a steroid and it will go into my blood stream. I used them yesterday and 1 drop today. Does anyone have any experience with this and is there something I can do more natural. The doctor said I have allergic conjunctivitis, NOT pink eye.

Thank you so much for any replies.

Wash your eyes with baby shampoo. Be sure to get the tear free kind. Dilute it down with some water. Wash well and rinse. You might also make some eye scrubs out of cheap wash clothes. Cut them into small squares, using one for each eye and then throwing them out afterwards. Gets out any pollen or whatever other allergen was in your eye.

of course breastmilk is the perfect eye wash... if you have access to that!

In January, right before I went raw, I had a strange eye infection, no redness but discharge and stinging.(I wore contacts at the time, which I gave up after that incident)

I did some research online for natural remedies and used Castor Oil (a drop on a clean q-tip for each eye) about three times a day. It definitely worked for me. But don't take my word for it, do the research and think about whether it will work for you. There are other natural remedies out there as well, good luck!! :)

Thank you so much for your replies. I actually do have access to breast milk, but it's not mine. Do you mean it has to be mine? My friend just had a baby and is breasfeeding.

Thanks again.
