Hey... Im not talking about the cuticle, but that white circle that everyone has. I have read before, on here I believe, that it represents calcium? Not sure tho.

The reason I ask is, lately I have noticed the circle getting smaller and smaller. If it is about calcium, I dont believe Im lacking... I eat 6 heads of greens daily as well as fruits and superfoods. Been 100% almost 3 years.

So.. Im not sure what it means, and why people I saw who aren't as healthy as Iam, have these huge circles?.

Any thoughts?

Not sure, but seem to recall reading somewhere that it has something to do with our B12 levels. ~ Cathy

Interesting... I will do some more research. I do have Nutritional Yeast, I haven't been taking... So I will start again and see... I wonder tho, I remember hearing about sea veggies, canceling out the absorption of b12 if consumed together? Anyone heard of that? SO if that proves correct, Im guessing to not consume the nutritional yeast with dulse or kelp in my smoothie...

Anyone heard about that?

Thanks

Davy... it's good they're going away. I've read the spots are calcium deposits. That means your body's not using the calcium not that it's extra you don't need, and it ends up somewhere. I noticed when I started eating (pretty unhealthy) non-raw food for a short time that all of the sudden they appeared out of nowhere.

The more green smoothies (iron and other minerals) you drink, the better this should be because of the balance between iron and calcium in your body.

Hi Davy, I believe as Eva and lafsalot say it is both B12 and calcium. I used to have white lines on my nails. I was advised by my acupuncturist who studied chinese medicine in SF that it is exactly as Eva stated...not using calcium stores properly. I also was recuperating from breaking bones.

Seaweed, dulse and spirulina are great for this particular healing crisis opportunity. I also started drinking tons of celery juice as a mono meal. Worked exceptionally well to create balance in my body. Celery is great for the bones and calcium absorption. If you look at a stalk of celery it looks just like a sturdy bone, with the exception of being green of course. Today I have shiny, pink nailbeds with very white nails. :D

Good luck to you.

Thanks all!

Actually to clarify, it's not calcium deposits, I mean those Half Moons on the bottom of the 3 nails on each hand.:D

I THOUGHT you were talking about lunulas. ;) I heard they can still be about calcium absorption though.

No matter how far I push my cuticles back (which I actually don't do anymore though because I think its weird to do that!) I cannot see any lunulas. I've always been jealous of those who had them, I think they look so pretty! But if it means bad calcium absorption then I guess I shouldn't be so jealous. :p

Oh geez, that I don't know. I did a web search and of course got all sorts of conflicting information -- none of which was on reputable web sites!
