I am very new to raw. Alissa's book just came today. I was wondering if anyone has Rheumatoid arthritis and if raw has helped? I have had Rheumatoid arthritis for 3 years. I am in pain, I don't want to take the meds.

I am so impressed with everyones weight loss. I am hoping if I can go 100% raw I will have the same results.

I don't have RA, but I saw your post and wanted to share with you this quote from Dr. Joel Fuhrman's book, Eat to Live:

Even many of my patients with autoimmune illnesses (such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis...)are able to recover [after beginning and staying on his diet plan] and throw away their medications.

The diet he prescribes for his patients is a whole food, plant-based diet, including plenty of raw fruits and veggies. He stresses greens, and has his patients eat 2 pounds of them daily!

You will definitely improve your health by leaps and bounds by going raw, especially by focusing on those nutrient-packed greens. I wish you all the best! :)

I was diagnosed with arthritis in both hips and one knee as a child. It's not Rheumatoid arthritis, but a similar autoimmune disease. I don't have too many symptoms and haven't for sometime, so can't give you any personal experience on raw and arthritis (I've been vegan for ages though and I'm pretty sure it's helped).

Recent studies have shown that a vegan diet can help in the treatment of arthritis. I'd say a raw vegan diet would be far more effective on top of this.

Good luck!
