For those of you who have battled with candida or who currently are....I am missing my green smoothies (I am avoiding fruit temporarily except grapefruit and apples)
Do you have any tasty recipes that you used?

Well, I may be weird but I rarely add fruit to my green smoothies...sometimes I may add a few fresh strawberries but that's a rarity....Currently my green smoothies consist of fresh spinach, fresh kale, a TBSP bee pollen, a TBSP spirulina, 2 TBSP raw cacao powder, a little coconut oil, a dash of stevia powder, water, and 2 TBSP ground flaxseeds. I like it....but I'm not a huge fan of fruit so maybe to those who are used to using sweet fruits it would taste gross...But hey at least my GS is candida-elimination friendly :p

Thanks Cc I will have to try that. I've been making green juice and adding stevia instead of an apple. Is it thick and hard to get down though?

It's not too thick....I sip it through a small straw and don't have any problems...

I read this morning that candida is not a fruit sugar problem but a FATS overload, with refined sugar exacerbating it.
I was on a candida diet twice in the past with no fruit for over a month and I got so weak and such pain in my stomach that went away immediately when I ate some strawberries. I do not do well at all without fruit.
You might try researching that concept.

I have done that Theogirl, and high fruit and greens with low fats is what made it worse for me (That's just me and everyone is different) I am an athlete so fruit will be added back in, just not at the moment. I am only doing avo's for fat, maybe one a day.
Tonight I tried a smoothie with:
1/2 cuc
2 roma tomatoes
1/2 avo
2 stalks of celery
2 c spinach
Not too bad and my girls (20 months) even sipped off it :)

Hi, I have candida also and I've been told that I can have cherries, berries and green apple once a day. So maybe you can make your green smoothies with some berries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries. :) I also tried to give up all fruit for a while and found myself on a rollercoaster of pigging out and eating more sugars than ever at night (agave, dates, honey, fruit) so I decided that wasn't working for me and so I added back the berries and apples. I am also going for a series of colonics. They say that speeds up the process of getting the candida out. Good luck!
